The UEM, the community of churches on three continents, is conscious that peacebuilding requires a combination of Christian and cultural elements. They have to be blended to promote peace and reconcile people. I am confident that we will continue reflecting on global peacebuilding from an intercultural perspective for sustainable peace everywhere. For that to happen, we must remember Roosevelt’s threefold approach to peace­building: talk-believe-work for peace. By so doing, we shall be the Makers of Peace whom Jesus and Paul talk about.
